Saturday October 26th 2019
Barking captain Abs Seymour today made his 100th appearance in our FA Trophty tie against Margate FC - prior to kick off Chairman Rob O’Brien presented Abs with a silver salver to celebrate this landmark in his Blues career
Abs joined us the in the summer of 2017 and his first start was in the season opener on August 12th against Waltham Abbey at Mayesbrook Park and during the following months has continued to be a consistent performer.
In our 2018 awards Abs won the supporters player of the year and was Justin Gardner's choice as managers player of the year.
First Team manager Justin Gardner's opinion was: "Abs has been a good servant for Barking, he’s been loyal to me for a number of years and been my captain at Barking for three years and my captain at Aveley for three years, he has been a very loyal, committed player and resembles myself in giving one hundred percent on the pitch every week and
I congratulate him on his one hundred appearances."
Club chairman Rob O’Brien commented: “Abs has been a loyal and great asset to the club over the past three seasons. When he is on form he is virtually unplayable. His work ethic, tackling, distribution and goals have helped Barking FC maintain their status in the Isthmian league. I hope this will continue and he helps us push for a promotion place soon. Congratulations and very well-deserved Abs.”
