AS EASY AS 1,2,3 FOR COGGESHALL
Coggeshall Town continued their successful run against us this season after two one nil wins earlier this season they made it three and kept the goals conceded to nil as well.
Although Sam Bantick tormentor in chief of the previous games was left on the bench Coggeshall recorded a comfortable victory on their travels over Barking.
A Coggeshall counter attack gave them the lead after 9 minutes as the ball was squared to Tevan Allen who slotted the ball home. It got worse as Ross Elsom was forced off on 17 following a foul by Curties Haynes-Brown who looked fortunate to receive just a yellow card The visitors lead could have been doubled if it wasn’t for debutant full back Jack Roult who cleared the ball off the line after 22 minutes to keep Coggeshall at bay. There was a chance for Tobi Joseph but he failed to properly latch onto Ben O’Brien's header.
Barking failed to make any real impact in the early stages of the second half and after 51 minutes were punished after failing to clear their lines as Nnamdi Nwachuku curled the ball home. It was nearly three ten minutes later but Montel Joseph in goal pulled off a vital save from a powerful long range effort. Barking failed to create much in front of goal and were further punished late on as Conor Hubble found the net late on with a venomous free kick from 35 yards which moved viciously in the air.
We have a rare midweek home league game this coming Tuesday (March 5th) as we entertain Great Wakering Rovers in a rearranged league fixture and we will be looking to achieve our first ever league double over them and our first this season. Kick off is at 7:45pm.
