BARKING SWAT THE BEES AND TAKE THE POINTSAlthough this is a game that will definitely not linger in the memory but was settled by a late poachers goal to secure the points and complete a second victory this season against their previous ESL rivals Basildon United and a run of games without a win.

Basildon started strongly with a series of corners but it was Barking who went closest with 15 minutes on the clock as Jack McQueen saw his header cleared off the line. Basildon went close with a header after 28 minutes and went even closer after 36 minutes as a header from a corner to the far post was cleared off the line by Ola Ogunwamide.

Barking started the second half stronger and Basildon’s former Blue Emmanuel Olajide in goal was definitely the busier keeper with Teniola going close with a turn and volley before Tarbard's cross was deflected towards goal but Olajide was equal to it. Half time sub Tobi Joseph came on for jack Roult at half time and saw his shot cleared off the line after 75 minutes before Olajide was again equal to a bobbling shot from fellow substitute Ross Elsom. Barking finally broke Basildon’s defence with minutes to go as a ball from Elsom found Joseph who laid the ball to Rashid Kamara who cut inside and saw his near post effort saved onto the post by Olajide but Nana Boakye-Yiadom was on hand to bundle the ball home to secure a late victory and claim the points.

On Tuesday we have our final home game of the season as we entertain play-off certainties Aveley FC kick off 7:45pm.
