Brentwood Town 1

Barking 0

Barking fell to another narrow frustrating defeat as their Bank Holiday weekend ended with a 1-0 defeat to Brentwood Town. The Yellows had the stronger of the opening play without testing Budd in the Brentwood goal but it was them who took the lead after 27 minutes as corner was headed across goal for Connor Martin to bundle home.

Barking had the best of the opening play as they managed to swing dangerous crosses from either side across goal but failed to find a Barking player. Brentwood looked dangerous from set pieces and their pressure from them told after 27 minutes as their second corner in succession was turned home by Martin. Barking continued to push forward for the remainder of the half but they still were unable to test Rob Budd in the Brentwood goal before half time.

The second half continued much of the same but as the full time whistle grew closer Barking managed to get closer mainly through their own set pieces. Rashid Kamara forced Budd into his first save from a close range shot while Daniel Cheema saw his curling effort hit the bar. Barking continued to push forward and had Emmanuel Olajide to thank for a double save late on keeping the match alive. Barking managed to fashion some half chances late on but were unable to force a goal and are stuck on nil points from three games.
