Barking Football Club will be hosting a meeting of the 'Friends of Mayesbrook Park' this Saturday (19th December) at 10am in the portakabin. This follows a successful meeting the club had with Alex Farris who is Senior Parks Development Officer with Barking Council. Alex chairs these meetings and they are a great opportunity to discuss the redevelopment of Mayesbrook Park and other issues relating to the area. The meeting is open to any Barking supporters who would like to come along.

As our community efforts continue to expand the club are pleased to annouce the launch of the Barking FC Football Academy Football Educational Scholarship Scheme for potential players who are aged 15 or 16 and are leaving school in 2010.

Manager Steve Munday has signed former Romford and Ilford striker Des Gallen

Scott Borthwick has signed for Holmsdale FC in the Kent League Premier Division. However, we still hold his Essex Senior League registration.

Club physiotherapist Alan Richards reports that:-
Craig Leader, who was injured during the Stansted match in October, has a fractured ankle and is still in splints. He is expected to be out until at least Christmas
Mark Steadman has resumed training
Darren Quincroft has shin splints but should be training soon

Next Monday's away league match against Barkingside has had to be postponed for a second time due the Oaksiders continued involvement in the league cup - they will now be playing Bethnal Green United instead. The match will be rearranged for early in 2010.

Yesterdays postponed home game against Burnham Ramblers has now been rearranged for Tuesday January 19th kick off 7:45pm.
