BARKING DRAW OUT ANOTHER RESULT
After an interuption for a defeat and a win Barking's run of drawn games continues as a second half equaliser from Sahr Kabba was enougjh for a share of the spoils in front of 367 at Felxistowe's Goldstar ground.
However, after just three minutes Barking supporters were suffering flashbacks to our last away game and heavy defeat at Dereham when Miles Powell fired home despite Ricky Tarbard's best efforts to keep it out. Following this early setback Barking still had enough possession, crosses into the home box, free kicks and corners to create chances but nothing clear enough to conjure up a equaliser. As he proved last week Montel Joseph is a good shot stopper and his feet and hands kept the deficit down to one with good saves as the home tried to extend their lead.
After the break Felixstowe forced a succession of corners which were dealt with by the Barking defence
Next Saturday we hit the road as we travel Felixstowe & Walton United FC hoping to capitalise on this win. As with last week the introduction of Ola Ogunwamide on the hour seemed to make things happen for Barking and with the formation reshuffled began to look more threatening. Montel Joseph dealt with a low free kick which could of been creeping in, but on 73 minutes our goal arrived when a Tarbard throw was cleared to Ogunwamide who found Ross Elsom and his shot was smartly turned in by Sahr Kabba and we were back in the game. As the game wore on our best chances fell to Ola Ogunwamide: firstly he blasted over when through and then from range he mis-kicked with home keeper Jack Spurling just in front of him. There was a late scare when Montel Joseph rushed from his to try and clear and was only partially successful as the rebound bounced perilously close to our goal before being cleared by Ricky Tarbard. On reflection a game which each dominated a half but could score no more than one goal.
Back to Mayesbrook Park next Saturday as Coggleshall Town are the visitors, a team we have played twice already this season and will be a tough match. After the game we are holding a "Race Night" to raise funds for our youth teams kits.
