Basildon United FC

Brief History
Basildon United were initially formed in 1963 under the name of Armada Sports. Initially playing as a junior team, they competed as armada sports until 1967 making the move to adult football and subsequently changing their name to ‘Basildon United’. In 1971 they made the move to the Essex Senior League, becoming one of the founder members of the league itself. After enjoying spells in the Athenian and Isthmian leagues, they found themselves back in the Essex Senior League in 1991, a League in which they have competed in until 2017-18 where they achieved promotion to the Isthmian League.

Last Season
Basildon United enjoyed an extremely fruitful season, Achieving 94 points and promotion back to the Isthmian League North. The season started strongly, With Basildon picking up six wins in their first eight games. The season continued in this fashion, with a 7-0 thrashing of new boys Hackney Wick being just one of many highlights during the season.

Last Meeting
We last faced Basildon United back in the 2016/17 season, Where a brace from Joe Pearman and one from Ben O’Brien was enough to secure the points in a comfortable 3-0 wins for the blues.

Stadium
Basildon United were initially based at the Gloucester Park Bowl until the 1970-71 season, when they made the move to Gardiners Close, where they remain today. Gardiners Close has a capacity of 2000 of which 400 is seated. More information can be found here.
