FULL REPORT TO FOLLOW - Interim report
Barking conceded a goal in each half to fall to defeat against their play-off rivals in Hertfordshire on Saturday.
Blues had been beaten 2-1 at home by mid-table outfit Hertford Town a week earlier, having opened the new year with a 3-1 win at Tilbury.
And they fell behind on the half-hour mark when a free-kick was swung into the box from the left and headed on for Sean Grace to scramble home from close range.
Barking tried to find a way back into the match but the home side made sure of the points seven minutes from time from another set-piece.
The ball was fired in from the right edge of the box this time and Eoin Casey stole in at the far post to beat Emmanuel Olajide.
A third defeat in five matches leaves Justin Gardner’s men in eighth place and four points off a play-off spot, having played four games more than Potters Bar.
Their next fixture is on the 3G pitch at Subdury next Saturday (January 20), before a midweek trip to leaders Hornchurch three days later.
