A BRIDGE TO FAR
Barking made the Tuesday night 120-mile round trip to Uxbridge and this unfortunately proved to be a not only a fruitless journey but a pointless one as well.
We made a nightmare start when after just a minute played a ball across our area found Nicholas Bignall at the far post and he had the easiest of tap ins to put the home side a goal to the good. It took 26 minutes for Barking to equalise when good hold up play by Dumebi GB-Dumaka set Max Bradford free and his cross found Johnny Ashman who chested the ball down and fired home the equaliser. Parity did not last and on 33 Uxbridge edged in front as a ball played forward found Jack Beadle who side stepped Manny Agboola and again it was a simple finish to restore the home sides lead.
Unfortunately, despite much second half effort Barking were unable to create the required cutting edge to provide either an equaliser or a winner and, in the end, Uxbridge collected the points. The defeat left us ninth in the table and with the cessation of football due to the COVID-19 we currently do not know when our next match will be or if in fact season 2019/20 will be completed which will be for the first time since 1939 this has happened. Our social media outlets will provide updates as soon as they are available.
