Two trips up the A13 in the space of four days and plenty of reward for those fans that made the effort. Not at our best in either game but did enough when it mattered, that's a winning mentality and hopefully it's creeping into our game at last.
Contrasting games as well, excellent first half on Wednesday and had done most of the hard work by half time, moved the ball well on a deceptively heavy surface and probably should have been further ahead at the break. Let Bowers back in briefly but them closed things out pretty effeciently, well on top by the final whistle and could have been far more conclusive in the end.
Started slower on Saturday as we struggled for any fluency on a difficult surface, could have been further behind if not for Clarkey's terrific penalty stop. Credit to the Manager at the break, no ranting or raving just drove home the message to keep playing our football. Eventually added some quality to go with the effort and eventually run out worthy winners. Have played the ball forward a little quicker in recent games and that's making us far more potent and even more attractive to watch.
One downside and a nasty looking injury to Ben Turner, has been a big player for us in recent weeks so fingers crossed the knock not as bad as first feared.
Two more games this week, both winnable on paper but cannot afford to take anything for granted, league will turn around very quickly as the backlog of fixtures thins out so a perfect time to keep the good run going.
Word of thanks to the fans that continue to keep the faith and a get well to an absent one in Derek Pedder, hopefully will be perked up by recent results and back on the terracing soon.
