A bonus offering this week as we fitted in this hastily arranged friendly with Ryman 1 North Leyton. Have played some good quality friendlies in recent weeks and this was no exception, has helped us maintain momentum and work on our shape, fitness and consistency in how we go about things.
Must say it was a pleasure to sit back, relax and simply watch the team play - and I was quite impressed. Deano and Brian took the game and it was interesting to see the lads positive response to this move, there's good habits now engrained in this team and their focus is so much better.
Saying that me and Steve did have to intervene once, the shape early doors was not all it should have been, a no nonsense early substituation and the problem was solved despite Doyley's open show of petulance, this will be dealt with internally and will not be tolerated by the Management.
As against Dagenham, lots of positives here, not least the ease in which newcomers are now able to settle into the team pattern, everyone looks comfortable and this transmits through the side. Lived dangerously last ten but that could be expected against quality opposition. All in all we can take heart from this, lads showing commitment and the right attitude whenever they wear the shirt and a handful for most teams at present.
Big display from Brad Wigginton, came under fire Saturday, but responded in the right way tonight, another player always striving to improve himself and that's a good quality.
Things set up nicely for Saturday, no easy games in this league so a battle expected for sure and hopefully another three very welcome points.
