We'll 'Take That' at Takeley
Stopped the rot after two defeats on the bounce, a well deserved point and could have won the game on the balance of play. We'd have 'Taken That' before the game so hopefully we're 'Back for good’.' Relit our fire 'and made second placed Takeley fight all the way, came desperately close to taking all three points in injury time, didn't exactly 'Rule the world' but did boss things on the night.
Was pleased with how the lads approached this one, far more relaxed before the game but still determined to cause a shock. Reverted back to something more like our normal system and we looked more comfortable defensively lost the ball a little too often in midfield but by and large game plan carried through to the letter.
A good evening all round for us, slightly smaller pitch made our target men easier to hit, Takeley let us play and I think our improvement surprised them. Even the weather did us a favour, heat died down and the mild conditions seemed to relax us even more, no need for 'chill pills' from the physio on this occasion even for 'Mad Dog' Dennis.
Once again support never fails to amaze me even a quick trip too the village shop interrupted by Barking well wishers, would have been nice to have delivered them all three points, but we did come close.
One more challenge this season and made no mistake we want to beat Hullbridge after we were robbed at Mayesbrook earlier in the season, should be an easy team talk- boys have worked hard this season and didn't deserve to lose in such a fashion, so a little whiff of revenge should be in the air. Will be looking for same attitude, same commitment and I’m sure we'll give Hullbridge problems, watch this space for the last time this season!
