November 30th - Came, Saw(bo’d) but didn't conqueror

Had the majority of the crowd and the majority of possession at Crofters End, just couldn't quite force a richly deserved win. Full commitment from the lads and that was good to see, took the game to our higher placed opponents and perhaps a little disappointed not to come away with all three points.

Were very good value for this and sets us up nicely for Tuesday's match with runaway league leaders Burnham, set a stark ultimatum before the match 'WIN NEXT FOUR GAMES TO GET INTO TITLE CONTENTION' may not have done that but did send a message of intent along the way, need to turn this into the second item on the agenda- the backup plan - 'REMAIN UNBEATEN NEXT THREE GAMES' if we want forge ahead this season.

Little bit of momentum built up now, one goal conceded in last three and second consecutive clean sheet, showing an obstinate streak that was missing earlier in the season and the bloody mindiness that's needed to succeed. Took lessons on board after the Clapton game and ironically could prove the turning point to our season. Some consistency in availability and team selection as well and that has been a good thing, players looking comfortable with the system, not scoring enough goals but at least looking more likely too. Mention to Rikki Mackin, outstanding on Saturday and a great attitude to every game, Brother Gary not far behind and close to a memorable winner with a last minute curler the wrong side of the post.

Favourable comments all round after this one, particularly from the Sawbridgeworth camp, our football good to watch at the moment, just the killer instinct missing but hopefully we can add that vital ingredient.

Last word to supporters, out in force again Saturday and gave us a real boost, created an atmosphere where there would have been one man and his dog and that can't fail to lift players at whatever standard you ply your trade - so well done the 'Blue Army'- and here's to more of the same on Tuesday.
