BARKING FC A LEVEL EDUCATION PROGRAMME

Barking FC Academy and Dagenham Park School have joined forces to create a top of the league A level and BTEC Education Football Scholarship programme for 16 to 18 year olds.

The Programme delivers the most of the sought after ‘A’ level subjects and combine these with UEFA coaching sessions and National League matches. A BTEC Extended diploma in Sporting subjects are also available and are 3 x A level equivalent.

BARKING FC SCHOLARSHIP EDUCATION PROGRAMME

The Barking FC Football Academy reflects an ethos which combines the provision of sporting excellence with a full-time education programme.

What is the Football Academy?
A 2-year, full-time education and football development programme for 16-18 year olds:
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, Coaching and Fitness (QCF)

Who can join the Academy?
Open to talented footballers aged between 16–18 years, the Academy Programme is a must for any football enthusiast. A playing trial will be required as places will be offered based on playing ability. Places at the Academy will be offered after each trial until the availability within the current Academy squad is filled.

Where will the Academy be held?
The football and educational element of the academy will be delivered at Barking FC, Mayesbrook Park, Lodge Avenue, Dagenham RM8 2JR.

The Education
Players will study a variety of nationally-recognised qualifications within sport, coaching and fitness managed by Academy 1 Sports College.
A BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, Coaching and Fitness (QCF) course.

Where required students will study Maths and English GCSE or Functional Skills.

The Football
Barking FC Academy was established in 2011 and has been successful both in terms of developing players to represent Barking FC First Team and supporting each student’s football development, academic and career pathways. The Academy has already created opportunities for young players to play for and represent Barking FC at Youth, Under 23 and First Team level.

The Academy will offer each student a unique opportunity to train and study in an environment that will facilitate each student’s academic and sporting performance over a two year programme of football and study.

  • Play in the Football in the National League Youth Alliance Under 19’s League
  • Daily training from highly qualified FA coaches
  • Guidance on individual football fitness
  • Nutritional advice
  • Regular appraisal to monitor development both on and off the pitch

Access to University, Apprenticeships, play professional and semi-professional football, Football coaching, Sport, Leisure and Fitness jobs.
